do you enjoy the gray weather with a nice cup of tea? We think it is the perfect weather to write a new blogpost, namely about Paris. Maybe you have seen that we had a amazing stay in Paris over the weekend. We decided it would be nice to create a little tourplan with our hotspots bout paris for you. Because we did so many pictures, especially at Versailles, we will cut the plan in several blogposts. First we have to say, that this was our first paris visit and we decided spontaneous what we visited, it can be that we show you nothing special but for us it was a great time.
The first decision for our paris trip, was to find the perfect hotel. Parisian hotels are really expensive, especially in a certain location. In Germany our favourite hotels for citytrips are MotelOne, but there isn´t one in Paris. Because of that we had to search a good one, which is not too expensive, but in a good location. In the end our father booked a hotel, located in the 9. Arrondissment, what is really near to Galeries Lafayette and Ladurre. You need only 10 min to walk to the tuileries garden. The Phileas hotel was a great place, central, small but very modern. We chared with three people one room, but we hadenough space, because of the comparatively big room. The room was very clean and at night the street not to loud. The hotel staff was very friendly and good informed about places to be. We had no breakfast at the hotel, beacuese there are so many amazing cafes in Paris. We were really happy that we found such a great hotel in a great location and we recommend this hotel definitly, but we are thankful for every good tip about Paris.
1. Louvre- Visit
After our arrival in Paris, we started our sightseeingtour. Because of our central hotel, we had a short way to the tuileries gardens. After a way through the gardens we visited the Louvre. The gardens and the louvre were simply amazing. We were really surprised when we saw the short line at the louvre, because of that we decided to visit the louvre directly. In fact we waited not more than 5 minutes, simply unbelievable. The reason could be that it was already late afternoon, ca. 5pm and that the louvre is on fridays open until 22pm. Because of that it absolutely makes sense to visit the louvre on friday late, when the most tourists have already seen the Mona Lisa. At Mona Lisa it was also not to full.
After our Louvre visit we needed a little break, because of that we walked the street back to the amazing Laduree. How often we saw on Instragram the typical Laduree logo and the sweet macarons. We were hungry and a little bit tired, so we had a seat inside and ordered hot chocolate and chocolate cakes. The hot chocolate was really the best we ever had, it was simply only chocolate. It tastes like molten chocolate. One tip order a chocolate cake with orange pieces or cakes with fruit because otherwise you get a little chocolate shock. We had a second visit on the next day and at Versailles. It is an amazing place and it tastes great, but it is expensive. But a visit is it definitly worth.
3. Eiffel tower at night
After our hot chocolate, we walked to the eiffel tower. The way isn´t that far, especially when you are hungry and tired, but next to teh seine. We started at the dusk and arrived when it was dark, so we saw the floodlit and sparkling eiffel tower. Every hour the tower sparkles what looks really amazing. Because we were a little bit afraid of the highness of the tower we stayed on earth, but we found another great place to have a view about Paris, about that more soon. After the eiffel tower we walked back to the hotel and ate a cheeseplate in anear reataurant. Because we were so tired we ended the day in the hotel.
It was a great first day and we hope you liked the first part and you like the rest of the tourplan. Your Glamourandfoodtwins
